OUR JOURNEY TO COLORADO

So why did we move to Fort Collins?

We moved here to help plant (start) a new church in North Fort Collins.
Last January (07) we came to meet with a group of about 25-30 people who had a desire to see a new church planted in the north part of town. (There are few-no churches there!)
As we thought and prayed about the prospect – it seemed this was what God was leading us to do. So…we packed up our moving van (in West Texas) and moved to Fort Collins
We traded the hot, flat, high-planes of West Texas – for the Front Range scenery of Fort Collins!
(Somebody has to make such sacrifices!)

Since moving….
As a new group our first objectives were:
• Get to know one another
• Discover our common core values
• Establish our mission statement
• Visit with people in North Ft. Collins
• Begin gathering others who share our church planting vision
• Have potluck dinners!
(And not necessarily in that order!)

Second Stage: Since October 2007…
We’ve rented space at Heritage Christian Academy for a year before purchasing our current location. We meet for coffee, donuts, fellowship, a study form the Bible and worship: 10:00-11:30am. Our worship music is blended. Our atmosphere is casual.

AN INVITATION…
If you and your family have been looking for a church home, maybe even like the idea (and challenge!) of being involved in a new church plant, we’d love to have you consider us. We’re actively recruiting people to catch our vision for a new church in North Fort Collins! Come visit us.

Teen Pastor -Tom Nguyen   teens@livinghopefc.org
I was born in Vietnam and migrated to the U.S when I was 7 years old and grew up in Orange County, California.

I came to a personal relationship with Christ in 1990 and attended Rolling Hills Covenant Church in Rolling Hills Estates, California for 10 years and led a college/young adult Bible study. I then attended Church of the Beach Cities in Manhattan Beach, California and became their youth director for about 5 years. At Church of the Beach Cities I was ordained as a minister in 2001. After leaving Church of the Beach Cities, I became director of youth ministry for South Bay Community Church in Torrance, California for 3 years. For 12 years I was the Metro Director in the South Bay area of Los Angeles for Young Life Youth Ministry.

For the last 5 years I was a Youth Pastor for First Baptist Church of Palos Verdes in Rolling Hills Estates, California.

On October 23, 2004 I married my wife Kelly. She has been involved in youth ministry for the last 6 years. We were blessed to have a baby boy named Noah on April 17, 2007. Both Kelly and I have a passion to see teens not only come to know Jesus Christ personally, but to grow in their walk with Him. We enjoy doing things as a family. I enjoy sports, coaching, teaching and equipping youth with the word of God.

Children's Pastor - Brian Robinson   kids@livinghopefc.org

I grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and attended Lochwood Baptist church. I was married to my wife, Wendy there on April 8, 1989. Wendy and I have two sons- Brendon (now 15) and Braden (now 13).
We moved to Wichita, KS in 1996 and attended Glenville Baptist Church where I accepted a call into the ministry. I attended Tabor College and received a BS in Christian Ministry in 2002. I served as a pastoral intern at Glenville for one year before taking a position at Maple Street Baptist in Oxford, Ks as the minister of youth and music and served for 6 months as the interim pastor. In 2006 we moved to Ohio where I became the Associate Pastor over youth and children, and was Ordained into Christian Ministry at Crossroads Christian Church. I then served for two years at Wintersville Community Chapel in Childrens ministry and as a Worship leader.
We began to feel God tugging us to return to Colorado and moved to Ft Collins in October of 2009. We immediately landed at Living Hope Church and began teaching the children here.
Wendy and I both delight in seeing children come to the Lord and discipling them in their Christian walk. We desire to partner with parents in taking an active part in kids lives as we build relationships and teach them that learning about God is fun and exciting.
